The continuing adventures of Fred Phelps, Asshole-at-large

A friend sent this to me:

Fred Phelps is at it again. This time he'd like to erect a monument in Lebanon, PA to condemn a gay teenager that committed suicide.

What will Fred Phelps do when he gets to heaven and finds that gay people can enter? What's he going to say? Would he rather go to Hell and live with the devil and stew in his own hatred than to come an accept gay people?

It's just sad. Phelps is just sad. Sad and pathetic.

Hey, this sounds like a good sponsorship idea for Pipeline! Local, lots of publicity, youth oriented (for recruiting purposes), and sure to appeal to stuffy white-collar businessman (the movers-shakers-and decision makers!)

i think it's silly to talk about heaven at all. assuming heaven does exist, of course, how is this person to know whether gay people will enter or not? why not just call the guy a conservative asshole and be done with it instead of bothering with more bs religious logic?

Remember that study that showed that the guys that were most anti-gay were the most turned on by gay porn?

why not just call the guy a conservative asshole and be done with it instead of bothering with more bs religious logic?
How bigoted of you. What makes you think Phelps is any kind of conservative at all, given that his "church" (they're all related to one another) also disrupt military funerals, attacked Bush's second inauguration, celebrate 9/11, and desecrate flags?

Aaron, remember that there are different shades of conservatives and not all conservatives agree with Bush. A good example of this would be the John Birch Society, which everyone agrees is conservative, but they certainly did not celebrate Bush's inauguration.

Now, if Dave had directly said that Phelps is tied to the Republican Party, I would agree with you that he's not.

But in the true sense of the word conservative, Phelps is a conservative. He favors a conservative view of the world. It's just a thought.

Maurice: Phelps and his family were close friends with Al Gore and his family for many years, who often ate dinner at Phelp's Topeka home. Phelps was a delegate of his at the 88' Democratic convention, and ran for Governor of Kansas in several Democratic primaries (once gaining 15% of the vote).

There is nothing "conservative" about Phelps, unless you subscribe to a cartoonish, ignorant stereotype of conservatism. "Conservative" doesn't mean "people you don't like".

Phelps isnt conservative, he isnt liberal, or independent. Hes a member of the hateful asshole shit face party which consists entirely of him and his racist homophobic family.
He sickens me, god bless 9/11? That turd. He can go take his cruel hateful website and shove it up his ass.
Im an aetheist. He prays for me to die every day. I dont really like it when people pray for me to die.
