So, we're hearing a lot about the supposed John Kerry $0.50 increase in the gas tax from the Bush-Cheney campaign, but I'm not hearing anything from the President and his administration about the time Dick Cheney proposed a bill to increase taxes on oil and gas saying "let us rid ourselves of the fiction that low oil prices are somehow good for the United States". Oh, and what about the fact that John Kerry voted AGAINST the increase in taxes saying it would be bad for American families to pay more for gas? Again, the administration falls very quiet.
I however hear the din of Bush supporters crying out "Oh but the world was very different then, and that was 20 years ago." Right, which should also hold true for the world of 10 years ago when Kerry said he'd support an increase in gas taxes as well.
Strange, again, the room's gone quiet.
