I know a lot of people come here for the news on the Rubberband Man, and I came across this because of a reader's comment, and a note on CNN...
Apparently, Eddie Steeples, the man that plays the Rubberband Man was in Thailand during the tsunami, and no one knows where he is.
Anyone able to debunk this?
FOR YOUR INFO THE MESSAGE ON CNN.COM ABOUT MY FRIEND EDDIE STEEPLES WAS NOT FAKE. I SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE I LEFT IT. IT WAS DAYS AFTER THE TSUNAMI AND NO ONE HAD HEARD FROM HIM. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THAILAND AND THEN IN INDIA, SO WE WERE ALL VERY WORRIED. AFTER SEEING MY MESSAGE A YOUNG WOMAN FROM THE NEW YORK POST CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW HE WAS OKAY. SO FOR ANYONE THINKING THIS WAS SOME KIND OF PUBLICLTY STUNT, THINK AGAIN. HE MAY BE THE "RUBBERBAND MAN" TO YOU ALL, BUT HE'S JUST MY HOMEY STEEPS WHO I THOUGHT I LOST.
Eddie Steeples is going to be interviewed on "Inside Edition" on 1/11 (or 1/12, depending on the station).
So glad your friend and our "Rubberband Man" is safe. My husband and I just saw his new commercial tonight...we were hoping that meant he was safe and sound.:-)
