Ben Edelman has done a fantastic job, hunting for and releasing the names of the primary investors in spyware.
The crucial thing here, for me, is that this makes it possible for people to now contact the board of directors for this VC firms and ask them to stop investing in this unsavory business.
At least, that's what I plan to do.

Ben has as much at stake in the arguement as Claria does. Read this, by his own admission he makes money by testifing that "this" is spyware, etc.. Who is the rat and who is the snake?
Expert consultants make thousands of dollars for testifing in these things.
I am not defending Spyware, but rather I am asking questions about the methods for determining who/what is spyware. Be informed about all of the parties, not just the "spyware" demons.

My interest in spyware originally arose in part from a prior consulting engagement in which I served as an expert to parties adverse to Claria in litigation. See Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive Company, LLC, et al. v. the Gator Corporation. More recently, I have served as an expert or consultant to other parties adverse to spyware companies in litigation or contemplated litigation.
