- Radio One, those retarded demi-lords of radio, have pulled the plug on Y100 here in Philadelphia. It's the only alternative music station in the Philadelphia area, and they just shut it down, without warning, or community discussion, which is certainly their choice (hey it's their radio station, after all), but that doesn't mean you can't tell them where to stick their change at y100rocks.com
- Speaking of Philadelphia, on my way to lunch last Friday, I was almost jumped by an angry Yankees fan. Walking down the street in, yes Philadelphia, not New York city, mind you, a guy in a delivery van rolls down his window and starts yelling at me (wearing a Red Sox hat, btw) about how it will be another 100 years before we can "rent another championship" and f-this and f-that. So I did not take the high road, I yelled back that he should piss off and stop being so bitter, which caused a whole fresh stream of profanity. I just kept walking, but I imagine that if I had not been with a large group of people from work, it could have ended with him attacking me in the street.
- I've decided that next year I will start learning Mandarin Chinese. Since, after India, China seems to be a big destination for not only outsourcing of IT, but of economic resources in general, it seems smart.
