Let's talk about what we DO KNOW:
- Cloaking: "The Others", whomever Ethan was working for, they have cloaking. The "security machine" that grabbed Locke was cloaked. The hole that Locke was falling into was hidden in plain sight. Reference that when Ethan came to take Claire back, he seemed to magically appear out of the woods.
- Advanced Technology: "The Others" have advanced technology, advanced technology, and it has existed for a long time. The beacon has been playing for over 16 years. More than 16 years, because that's what Hurley's friend in the mental institution was listening to it at a Navy listening post.
- Mining seems to be important: The Black Rock ship had mining equipment, and there seems to be a lot that happens underground. Is there a connection? I believe so.
- Danielle: She was not working with Ethan when he took Claire. She was trying to rescue Claire from Ethan. I don't know how she's more able to tap into what's happening on the island, but she can.
