It surely is a sign of the times that several South Asians on a flight to Mumbai, which shouldn't be surprising, Indians flying to India, wow, were arrested for passing around their cellphones and ignoring the flight attendants, but a white kid flying in from Argentina with DYNAMITE in his luggage, plus blasting caps, ammonium nitrate, and a detonator is cleared of any possibility of terrorism.

Link to the CNN story or or the MSNBC story if you like

Geez. Great reporting on this one....The MSNBC story doesn't even give ANY indication of what the man (you know, the "creepy white guy with the 3 names" issue--Howard McFarland Fish) was doing with dynamite in the first place. CNN was at least nice enough to let you know that his "explanation" was that he said he had been exploring mines in Bolivia and purchased the dynamite as a souvenir. ((Oh, how quaint...a souvenir. A little dynamite for the bathroom vanity. Well, heck never mind then!!)) So, the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force responded and determined that it was NOT an act of terrorism. Hmmm. I didn't know that you could escape terrorism charges just by claiming to be a complete idiot. Interesting. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents may have taken Fish into custody, but even as ICE is currently consulting with the U.S. attorney in Houston regarding possible criminal charges---I am SURE that they have already convicted him on charges of having less than two brain cells. Simply unbelievable. Maurice, here is a great case of when Legislative Darwinism would just work wonders!!
